I can't believe I'm saying this... but I hate the Sheraton Hotel at Frankfurt Airport because their rooms(especially the windows) too way too soundproof. It's so quiet that you can't tell that you're staying at an airport hotel.

+1 on early airport breakfasts. Flights at 6:00 or 7:00 are very common, so it's amazing that airport hotels -- whose core business is probably customers on late night arrivals and early morning departures -- don't offer breakfast for such passengers.

Stayed at an airport hotel at CDG (name eludes me right now) some years ago when I was in my teens, sharing the room with a good (but not that good) female friend. What we thought was chocolate on the pillow turned out to be a condom! We were (as teen girls are apt) in hysterics!

Had the same feeling while taking a timeshare tour of the Westin property Ka'anapali Maui..

Weird.. but it was too soundproof for my taste as well..

I remember staying in one small Washington hotel in 2009, the lighting heating system got broken or sth, anyway, no heat. We were almost frozen to death. The owner kept on explaining, but did nothing to make up for it. But to most of the other hotels I used to stay, I have to say there are great!! particularly those in California.
