CLE DEN need advice

I am only a pleasure traveler but have been loyal to CO. CLE to DEN nonstop is our regular family trip with elderly parents. The rates are $404. I see now that Frontier is offering $239 Akron to DEN nonstop. I don't know much about Frontier but why is there such a big difference and should I go for it? I need five tickets. I alaready got one CO reward ticket which I will have to put back and I believe it will cost me $75.
Thanks

I cant give you advice about the CO flight but I can give you info about the Frontier flight. First if your flight is an Airbus then direct tv will be offered (for a fee). The snack is a warm chocolate chip cookie and beverage. Other snacks are available for purchase along with some meal options and premium beverages. Now if you choose to go with frontier I would suggest you buy a Classic Plus ticket it allows for free checked bags, free tv, a free snack and premium beverage its a very good option.

As much as I Like CO I would go for Frontier out of CAK. Frontier flies nice Airbus aircraft with direct TV, CAK airport very easy to get in and out of. Even WN charges over $400.00 CLE-DEN. The money you save you could take another trip.

As the OP is open to considering other airlines besides CO, I'll move this to the TravelBuzz forum. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, United forum.

Frontier is fine airline. I fly it when I have to be in DEN because I hate WN, have a home base airport that doesn't have much UA service, and the rates are usually reasonable.

CLE-DEN is now a hub-to-hub flight (CLE for CO and DEN for UA). Those prices will always be high and are even higher due to fuel prices and lower capacity. Frontier is great, it's worth the drive.
