Dreaded CRJ700
Does anyone else think this plane is simply NOT comfortable when flying in economy? I've been taking weekly flights to/from DFW and CLE, and of course AA has decided that the CRJ700 is the best option.
Perhaps it is the winter travel and everyone bundling up thicker, but I feel like there is no "arm space" with the way the seats are configured. On one flight back to DFW, me and the guy in the seat to the left were literally fighting over the armrest during the entire flight. He decided to leave on his extremely thick coat the entire time, so things were getting very uncomfortable.
I think from a general perspective, it seems like the CRJ700 is REALLY maximized for value by squeezing in as many seats as possible. Based on the current AA fleet, though, this is the only plane that can accommodate the number of passengers who regularly take this flight.
I've actually found that the ERJ145 can be quite comfortable, even though it is much smaller and a bit older, simply because you have the option of sitting in the solo seat (1 and 2 config).
Just a rant I guess. I've actually thrown away my loyalty to AA for the remaining bookings for this work project, and will be taking some combination of Southwest and UA simply to avoid having to ride on any more CRJs.

I'm actually a big fan of the CRJ 700's 2+2 seating, lots of space for your feet as there isn't a divider between them... other than overhead bins being too small for reasonable carry-ons, I find it a perfect plane personally!
that and the E170/190 are my favorite.

American CR7 has F class, if your extremely uncomfortable in Y then why not upgrade to F on some of your flight if your GLD or PLT? or even EXP where upgrade rates are really good for everyone on the AA board?
DFW-CLE will change to S80 starting Apr 5

I'm glad to hear that they'll switch to an S80 for DFW-CLE. Should be MUCH more comfortable for such a long flight (CLE to DFW is almost 3 hours during the winter months). Unfortunately, that is the time when I stop traveling to CLE.

United's regional subcontractors ("United Express") use a lot of CRJ-700 planes. The 2-2 configuration means no middle seats. Also, they tend to have lots of Economy Plus seats, so a non-elite in regular economy may get an upgrade in some cases.
