Does anyone else think this plane is simply NOT comfortable when flying in economy? I've been taking weekly flights to/from DFW and CLE, and of course AA has decided that the CRJ700 is the best option.
Perhaps it is the winter travel and everyone bundling up thicker, but I feel like there is no "arm space" with the way the seats are configured. On one flight back to DFW, me and the guy in the seat to the left were literally fighting over the armrest during the entire flight. He decided to leave on his extremely thick coat the entire time, so things were getting very uncomfortable.
I think from a general perspective, it seems like the CRJ700 is REALLY maximized for value by squeezing in as many seats as possible. Based on the current AA fleet, though, this is the only plane that can accommodate the number of passengers who regularly take this flight.
I've actually found that the ERJ145 can be quite comfortable, even though it is much smaller and a bit older, simply because you have the option of sitting in the solo seat (1 and 2 config).
Just a rant I guess. I've actually thrown away my loyalty to AA for the remaining bookings for this work project, and will be taking some combination of Southwest and UA simply to avoid having to ride on any more CRJs.
