Hmmm...

Well I live in Seattle and many folks say I am the luckiest person they know....

I have found most all of New Zealand quite enchanting.
Also enamored of Montreal, Paris, Montepulciano, Washington DC, Sanibel Island, FL;Carmel Valley, CA and just about anywhere in the foothills and mountains of the eastern Sierras in CA. I have been to the top of Mt. Whitney there a couple of times and intend to return there also.

12 day cruise on a 12 passenger boat around the Galapagos in April a few years back. Incredible... Get up, have a great breakfast, go hike around and over the wildlife for 3-4 hours, back to the boat for a great lunch, cruise an hour or two, another hike, a swim, great dinner....

Heaven!!

Some of the more remote islands in Indonesia are paradise on earth...

Where one can look for information about them?

I find that the people are very important in making a place "the best place ever visited".

Sometimes, it's just people at random.

Another time, someone recommended that I contact his friend so I wrote ahead of time. His friend invited me for dinner at home with his wife and children as well as drive me around for about an hour to see interesting sites that were off the beaten path. That was nice.

Sometimes, it's a combination of sights to see, pleasant experience, and friendly strangers.

In Hungary, I did say a single word to anyone. A nice trip, but different.

The Orkney Islands in Scotland. Gorgeous views, incredible historic sites, friendly people.. what's not to love?

luxemberg, i went there only for 1 full day during my college days, so i guess i missed out something.

I think I had the advantage of knowing someone that lives there so I had fore knowledge of the best places to go, the best place for hot chocolate, and the best place for macaroons. I was my wife's hero for a day :D

Cheung Chau. It feels like going home every time I go there.

Definitely Torres del Paine NP in Chilean Patagonia. Spent 5 days hiking the W circuit. Amazing.

RJ at New Years was pretty awesome, too. Nothing like spending New Years Eve with 2 million others on Copacabana.

Probably NZ for me so far. It's about as far as I can realistically get from my house, has some of the best roads I've ever driven and the scenery is amazing. Will be my fifth trip in December, but I have family there too.

I feel the same way. I have been to NZ five or six times. All but one were at my own expense. One trip was for business to an office in Lower Hutt. I love Wellington. It reminds me of a better, much cleaner version of San Francisco. (Wellington > San Francisco). On one of my trips I surfed right next to the airport before my flight! You can't beat that.

I also really enjoyed Wales and am anxious to return. I preferred Swansea over Cardiff, but after watching Doctor Who and Torchwood, I'm anxious to explore Cardiff some time. I also did some surfing there, and enjoyed it.

My third favorite city would be Paris, France. For me, all three of these really are my favorite(s).
