round the world ticket

I'm planning to make a round the world trip starting from Bangkok. United Airlines and Emirates have a great deal from here for only US$2900 business class. I'm wondering how the business class of United and Emirates are.
Also I want to know what the best way of travelling is, going east or west.

What are the details of this RTW? Where does it start, limit on miles, stops, etc?

I'm guessing Bangkok.

RTW pricing varys wildly by start point, but you generally have to buy in the country you start from. US$2900 sounds a very good deal even if taxes + fees are extra.

As for direction I would always advise flying westbound. Longer days, fewer redeyes, more cabin service experience.
