Like FriendlySkies, this list is from about the past 5 years--when I really kept track of such things. But I'm still young, and my list may pale compared to some others here, but I'll catch up!

Also, just out of curiosity, for duration of the flight, what do you put? The time between scheduled departure and arrival, or the actual time spent on the plane (i.e. taking delays into account)?

        Thanks!

I just let FlightMemory calculate the duration, but that probably does understate the time due to ground time.

        ATL: 1,746 flights

I wish I had kept track of flights or held on to more boarding cards. Off the top of my head I could only reliably remember carriers and routes going back a year or two. My highly incomplete data is:

        Airports
        1 CDG Paris 28 19.7 %
        2 EWR Newark 21 14.8 %
        3 BUD Budapest 5 3.5 %
        4 LHR London 5 3.5 %
        5 NCE Nizza (Nice) 5 3.5 %

        Airlines
        1 Continental 18 25.4 %
        2 Air France 8 11.3 %
        3 SAS 4 5.6 %
        4 Finnair 3 4.2 %
        5 Vietnam 3 4.2 %

        Aircraft
        1 Boeing 757 5 7.0 %
        2 Boeing 777 3 4.2 %
        3 Boeing 767 2 2.8 %
        4 Boeing 737 2 2.8 %
        5 Airbus 320 2 2.8%

Out of curiosity, why would leisure travel lead you to Detroit and Buffalo so often?

Since YYZ is number one I would guess that is where they live, therefore Detroit and Buffalo are probably where they have departed/arrived to many times as the cost is lower. Just as I am based in YVR, but many flights outs in/out of SEA.

Exactly. BUF is often my departure spot, its well worth the 1.5 drive for me, it really often in the past saved hundreds on airfare. I've never actually departed from DTW, but connected many times from YYZ and from BUF on NW.

FM counts each departure/arrival, so thats why connecting airports (or hubs) quickly make it up the ranks. I havent actually been to Amsterdam 35 times, but have connected to other spots in Europe/Middle East there at least 12 times. I now fly UA most of the time, so I expect ORD and IAD to slowly make their way up the ranking.

I'll be adding 8 new airlines this summer, and visiting my 100th country

        ps.
I've never actually been to Newark, but from what I hear, I m not missing much
