US based vs. Asian Based Airlines

US based: Ask for a full can of a Coke and get a dirty look from the FA.
Asian based airline: 'Free' drink of your choice including Beer, wine and spirits.

US based: Old airline magazine in the seat pocket
Asian based: Latest newspaper in several languages available to Y passengers

Have any more examples?

more examples

When asking to sit in another empty seat other than the one the airline assigned.

US based: Please....sit down! NOW!
Asian based: let me see if we can find you a more suitable seat...will this seat work? How about this one?

US Based: Here is a nice large glass that we'll refill regularly with wine until you drink us dry.
Asian based: Here is a thimble that I'll top off three times.

Yeah, it was probably just one bad flight service-wise but the glassware on KE's longhaul C product was way too small for my drinking needs.

US based airline: "Excuse me Granny, can I help you with your luggage? Oh you're the flight attendant, Sorry"

Asia based airline: "Excuse me little girl, did you lose your parents? Oh, you're the flight attendant, Sorry"

On a forty-minute flight:

US-based airline: "Due to the short duration of the flight, there is no time to offer beverage service"
Asia-based airline: "Enjoy your hot meal"

Depends on what class it is, asian base airline like NH, JL, OZ, CX NEVER give you a full can of soda even you ask for it in Y.

However, UA ALWAYS give you full can of soda in Y.

Regarding magazines and newspapers, many asian airlines had cut newspapers in Y. Like OZ, I can hardly find english newspapers in Y, it is korean, even for flights to china, they don't even have chinese newspapers if you fly F.

Depends on what airline, even CX had cut Y meals in 1+ hours flight for HKG-TPE.

That's why I said depends on the airline, rather than asian airlines as a whole serve meals no matter what.
