Some of the comments though are cringeworthy:
The one feature that SeatGuru has had, yet to appear on AeroLOPA
, is which version of a particular aircraft is being used for a specific route on a specific day -
- a key piece of information in making an informed advance seat selection.
Ahum......
Performing one's own piece of investigating journalisim about a potential flight
+ looking up aircraft deployment in the timetable,
seems to be quite an effort for some ......
Nobody seems to take in consideration that it is all a volunteer group effort with appreciated community input .....
So again: i am thank you and everyone else for this amazing free resource...
And to add: i too am clinging to an old Singapore Airlines & KLM timetable book because of the pretty amazing detailed seatmaps as a relic of a bygone age that still holds fascination

So in reality what seatguru.com and seatmaps.com appear to be doing is fetching the aircraft code from the GDS, then applying a best guess to match the LOPA with the flight no and date request. The results are far from perfect, as these sites frequently get it wrong.
ExpertFlyer does have a much higher success rate, which leads me to think they developed a clever robotic script which mines the GDS and also scrapes the more granular aircraft cabin data directly from airline websites. I could be wrong though but in any event, this is something EF does do tremendously well. I just don't think AeroLOPA can possibly match it

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but when I try to find the AA (American Eagle) E145, and click on it, I get an error that the page cannot be found:
https://www.aerolopa.com/aa-e45
If it's not actually there (like no data yet) perhaps change the icon to say (coming soon) or something?

Hi all,
Apologies for the disruption. This occurred just as the domain transferred over and now that weve pulled the right levers and pressed the right buttons, the site is back online.

Seat Map Key
Hi there!
Really like your site but is there a seat map key? I noticed on the Airlink Embraer 195 map that one of every two seats have a red marking but not consistently different, e.g., 5B red, 6B red while 6A purple, 7A no colour while 7B is red. I fly today and I have a purple seat.😱
