Android vs iOS: Which Platform to Build Your App for First?
This subject recently came up in the Flighty thread.
I don't want it to distract from the developers' explanation of their product and its features, so I started this thread to discuss the merits of developing iOS vs. Android versions of apps first.
While this is somewhat tangential to the mission of the Travel Tools forum, which is discussion of tools, services and software used to optimize the travel experience, it is important for some of our members. I, for one, am an Android user who understands the developer's decision to develop the iOS version first.
The following article has a good discussion of the statistics and factors which influence developers choices of which platform to choose first:

Android vs iOS: Which Platform to Build Your App for First?
Deciding whether to build a business app for Android or iOS (Apple) depends on 5 factors: your audience, project timeline, desired app features, app maintenance budget, and revenue goal. We compiled statistics on these factors to help you choose – android vs iOS.

While your goal may be to launch on both platforms eventually, it is risky and expensive to build an app for both iOS and Android simultaneously. Instead, most developers choose to build an app for one platform to start and then launch the app on the other platform later – once the first version of the app is established and successful.

There are pros and cons to both platforms, but ultimately, the choice comes down to 5 factors:

What is there to discuss? I think the article you link to and the comments by the Flighty developer in the other thread pretty much cover it. Perhaps one thing that can be discussed is that creating an app is usually about making money. It is not about fairness or equal access across platforms.
