I booked an SUV in DEN from Advantage on autoslash.com. Used Advantage AAA discount code 1805452 to knock off about 10%.

3-days for $97 total. Advantage's parent company Hertz wants more than 3 times that.

I have rented from Advantage at DEN..... once! After you get there you will understand why they are cheaper.

I couldn't find much to discourage me in the FT Car Rental forums. Was your experience since the Hertz takeover? What were the problems?

This will be a trip in which I will have a good bit of leeway in my schedule. I'll report back on my experience. I can't justify the SUV prices from the big brands for this trip, but I easily can walk right next door to grab a car, if I need to.

I rented from that Advantage office twice and had no problems with them. I'd even go back.

The lowest fare on Autoslash is showing at $387.10. More than double that rate. Note a different drop off from the pickup location, MCO-MIA.

As previously stated, we don't currently support all companies, but on the other hand, you can always head to our homepage and click on the tab labeled "Track a rental I've already booked" and we can track pricing for rentals made anywhere and with any company.

This means that if you have a rental that you either a) Haven't booked with AutoSlash directly, or b) Are not tracking with AutoSlash, you are potentially leaving money on the table. Our services are completely FREE, so there really isn't much of an excuse not to be trying to save yourself a few $ (sometimes much more). :)

Lastly, for the record, after a brief PM exchange, BOB W is now booked with AutoSlash at a lower rate than the was able to find before. With luck, his price will go down even further before the pickup date.

PS--Also just a reminder that the rates we show are un-discounted, meaning they are generally the same you see on most other sites. With AutoSlash, the magic happens after you book.

There was some discussion in this thread a few nights ago about my decision to risk a rental with Advantage in DEN. I'm pleased with my rental so far, and I'd definitely be willing to rent from them again for similar savings. I posted my comments in the following thread...

Advantage filed for bankruptcy protection in Dec 2008.
Hertz bought them in April 2009.
