After experiencing Vista, the beta sounds too risky. I plan to switch to Vista first in 2012.

Vista to Win7 upgrade = crashing with an uptime under 2 min.
Clean Win7 install = running OK

Detected all of the hardware in my fairly-new Dell laptop except the Video card immediately - the video card (Quadro NVS130M) initially was missed but got picked up on my first actual reboot - I'm not sure if Windows update was involved or not.

Don't like some of the UI changes or the new taskbar/notification area, but otherwise it's not bad. Since I couldn't get the upgrade to go (and lost a bunch of time to a restore from backup), it's on a spare HD and I have not had much time to play with it.

I've just installed Win7 on my Lenovo S10 - installation could not have been easier. I popped it onto a USB drive and had the full install completed in about 30 minutes.

The Lenovo (1.6GHz/160GB/1.5GB) runs perfectly. I did not have to install a single driver myself, and even Bluetooth works as it should.

I'm still running into too many apps on Win7 that don't work, so MS clearly changed a lot under the hood...

What apps?

They don't work at all, or they won't install?

I gave up. Too much stuff that simply does not work, and too many things that should work but don't.

Back to Vista for me

The list is endless. Admuncher, Nero, Epson printer software, photo resize apps etc...

I put up with as much as I could, but in the end when I can't even print stuff it just becomes too much.

I apply that same logic to the 2nd degree, and still run XP.

And you guys call yourselves nerds. Pffft!

I hope you used the crap out of the "send feedback" button, and sent your complaints to the people that make this software, or this stuff isn't gonna get fixed.
