Driver update question
Okay, I'm a moron, but I need to update some drivers and I don't understand what I need to do after I download from the website.
In the 1st case, I need to update the scanner driver for the Canon MP530 which is installed on my US PC.
In the 2nd case, I need to update the drivers and all software for the French version Canon MP530 installed on my US HP Pavillion, which now lives in France.
Can anyone give me a step-by-step? I would really appreciate some help.

like said above. updating your drivers are usually pretty easy. GO to the manufacturers website. look for the download section. enter your device info and download the driver. most likely you can double click the exe once it has been downloaded and it will install. if the instructions are different, it will likely include a readme with directions. good luck.

One note: Always set a restore point before updating your drivers (or, for that matter, installing new software). Sometimes, new drivers will have bugs or interact with other installed software in unforeseen ways. You want to make sure you have the ability to return to your previous configuration without having to do a a fresh OS install and re-installation of all of your software.

Having been burned in the past, I'm usually pretty conscientious about that, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded.
