I've had to fiddle with my Airport express in Starwood properties. The router wouldn't receive an IP address for the longest time, but as soon as I plugged in my laptop and then switched to the router (without paying yet) it worked. Don't know what it was, but it was as if the cisco box they use needed to see a laptop first or something.
