Well, I don't have the "themes" option on settings, but the entire color scheme and look changed in my gmail on a refresh...right around the time this thread started. Coincidence?

Cheers.

I logged into the web interface an hour or so ago and was surprised to see a notification at the top that Themes had been enabled for my account. Coincidence, or did attempting to click the themes link in beckoa's post trigger something?

I'm on Mountains for now (hey, this is Alaska), but will probably migrate back to the default in a few days, as I'm not much for iCandy. Terminal was pretty cool, but it's impossible to read...

Coincidence. It takes them time to push these things out across their farms of servers, and they have a lot of servers to get to.

The Classic theme is still a bit different and I do not like any of the themes. The simplicity and easiness on the eyes of Gmail was what made it attractive to me.

This move seems like something Yahoo! would do.

Me too! I changed the themes back to classic, but the new logon page is now hard for me to read, has background design, background and foreground not well differentiated, ... I'd like to comment to Google, not sure where to post so it would be read.

It'd be awesome to have the terminal theme available for the whole iGoogle page.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first saw the new themes. Google is going to ruin gail if they're not careful.
