Quick Question - Simplified Chinese?
I just bought a laptop here at Circuit City and Chinese characters don't show up properly.
I'd like to ask what I need to download (and where to get it) to be able to see and type Simplified Chinese.
Please and thank you!

If you have an installation/rescue CD/DVD, you can simply go into
font settings and install simplified Chinese and choose CD/DVD media
as the source.
Or try this one: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

So that new laptop is a Windows box or a Mac? You running XP or Vista?
Assuming you were running XP I'd go to the Control Panels->Regional and Language Options->Languages Tab and click on "Install Fonts for East Asian Languages"

The east asian language support lets the computer *DISPLAY* Chinese but it won't let you type it in. For that you need the appropriate input editor. You won't be able to pick an east asian input editor (there are several of them) until the fonts are installed.
You select the input editor(s) to install on just about the same place in Windows that you go to install the fonts in the first place.
