IPOD - How to Delete Files?

Sorry for what must seem a very basic question, but it is driving me nuts! How do I delete files from my iPod? I can delete them from iTunes, but that doesn't take them off the iPod.
Thanks so much!

Anapod from Red Chair will allow you to handle this task yourself, rather than bowing down to Steve Jobs in Cupertino via the iTunes interface.

I strongly recommend it as an iPod manager in place of iTunes, which will eventually cause you grief of one sort or the other.

Thanks! I just bought Anapod, and will play around with it.

Just dock your iPod and when it shows up on iTunes, open your iPod. Click on whatever files you want to remove and hit the delete key on your keyboard.

Personally I like MediaMonkey as a alternative to iTunes.
