XP x64 boot problem

I needed to set up two WinXPx64 machines. I installed onto one, set up all of the apps, and then cloned the hard drive with a Linux utility. The drives are SATA, so our ancient Ghost Corporate Edition v7.5 won't work with them. After the clone, the second machine seems to be missing its boot block. If I boot off of the WinXP x64 CD and ignore the "press any key to boot from CD" message it boots just fine. I tried using the recovery console and running "fixmbr" and "fixboot" to no avail. I verified that the partition was set up properly via the disk manager from within Windows. What am I missing?

Just curious, did you try Ghost with the "-noide" switch?

Did you make the partition active after cloning it?

I didn't try that. Thanks for the tip! Of course I'd rather figure out how to twiddle a few bits than copy again...

FYI, it turns out that the magic switch I needed to get Ghost Corporate 7.5 to see my SATA drives was "-fni"

It figures they'd use a different switch in different versions. After all, why make things simple?
