I just spoke to the owner of a small game store around here. He says they'll only get one Wii on launch day, and it will be first-come-first-served. But he also says that Nintendo is really good about keeping the stock flowing so most everyone who wants one will have one this holiday season. PS3 is another story, but does anyone really want to pay $500-$600 for one when a Wii only costs $250 and is probably more fun?

I've long held that the shortage of game consoles at any major new product launch is nothing more than the creation of marketing people. I'm saddened at the misery this creates among those who wanted their PS3 now now now (not to mention *****d off at the exploitation of homeless people who don't speak Japanese too well).

How are the homeless being exploited? Presumably they were being paid for their time. I've bought tickets to more than one free show at the National Gallery of Art from homeless people. Did I exploit them?
