Luggage advice
I need a new carry-on bag and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I'm looking for something that can hold a suit, be carried on, and hold enough for 4 or so days. Cost is less important than the ability to hold 2 pair of pants, 4 shirts, two pairs of shoes and a sport coat.
If this is in the wrong place, kindly let me know where to cross-post.

They are inexpensive and the last FOREVER. They do come with a suiter so you can pack your suit that way.

Well this is a somewhat generic response, but I've found packing has more pull than the carry on size itself. So my suggestions is 2 gallon zip lock bags. You can get two-three pairs of pants into one, squeze out the air, and it takes less than half the space. It's basically the same effect as those expensive storage bags, but disposible. Once your basics are in those bags, you'll have enough room to lay your suit on top to prevent wrinkles.

They make them in three sizes IIRC, and a couple of colors and very durable.
I actually wore out one of the smaller ones...after about 500,000 miles. I went out and bought a newer one, with several improvements over the old model. I still have and use the Costco computer bag made about seven years ago. Soft sided, same ballistic material, works great.

I have a TravelPro 20" rollaboard. It's great! I've found it fits in just about every overhead bin I've ever tried. Some 21" bags do as well. I'd not get one larger than 21" as other than the fact that it's rude to put a bag into the overhead sideways a larger bag also increases the likelyhood that you'll have to check it due to lack of room.

Tumi t3
I went through 8, yep thats eight, Orvis battenkill bags before i made the Tumi plunge.
My biggest thing was durability followed by something that i could easily recognize. I found a blue color for sale on their site and I've been VERY impressed. Its lasted a year already and I'm looking at a larger one.

I'm a big fan of Briggs and Riley luggage. (http://briggs-riley.com/index.asp) While they do cost a lot, they are damn near indistructable.....and their "simple as that" warrentee means that even if you *DO* find a way to destroy them, they will fix it free. I've lucked out and found a brief bag and 20" roll-aboard at a local "odd-lots" store for less than half of retail that are my constant travel companions... And bought a wheeled garment bag off of e-bay (new) for about 70% of retail.

I have a Costco Kirkland that was advertised as 22" when I bought it 10 or 12 years ago. On most UA narrowbodies (757s, 319s, 320s), I typically am NOT able to get the overhead storage door latched if I put it in wheels-first. Are the new 22" Kirklands better at letting the door be closed and latched?

Rolling duffel
I just bought a Travelpro rolling duffel.
Looks good.
Already showing damage, wear, rubbing, on MY FIRST TRIP!
Any experiences/opinions on rolling duffels that last? This is probably my fourth, of as many brands.

I have not had any issue with my Kirkland - bought several months ago - marked as "new design". Has fit in all overheads - primarily 757 and 320 - will pay more atttention this week and revert with another comment.
