Marriott Wireless, FlyerTalk and AIM
I just got a new wireless latop about a month ago and I'm the first to admit that I don't know much about this technology.
Last week and this week I've stayed in a Marriott (okay, a Fairfield, my company is cheap
) and I am having problems with FT and AIM. FT is very slow (on and off) and I can't connect to AIM at all, it says the AIM service can't be reached. My signal strength is "Very Good". Marriott uses Golden Tree Communications.
I've stayed at Hilton and Holiday Inn and I don't remember having these problems.
Does anyone know if this is a Marriott problem or a problem with my laptop?
Thanks!

If it works fine someplace else, and doesn't work there, then it's a problem on their end. They are probably blocking the AIM services, lots of places do because they take up so much bandwidth.
