If you are going to be near an Internet Cafe somewhere durig the midpoint of your trip have the images you've already taken burned to CDs or a DVD locally.

I went and broswed through the GB's of pix from my 6.7MP camera and they average about 2.5MB, so I would think, even at full JPEG resolution (or are you shooting RAW/TIFF?) you should be able to get 250 pic on a 512 card.

How much are you planning on shooting per day, and can you do some editing in the camera? I shot 200 at a soccer game not too long ago, but scanned through them after shooting/at the end of the game and only had to download/save 80.

2 1GB sticks should get you 1000 pictures, or 50/day - are you planning on shooting more? I don't know about sticks, but CF/SD are down to $80/GB if you shop around.
