First - make sure that the dictionary extension has been successfully added to Firefox. To do this, go to Tools -> Extensions on the Firefox menu. Ensure that "DictionarySearch" is listed (the most current version is 0.7).
Firefox does require a restart after installing a new extension...but I'm assuming you have restarted the browser since you initially installed the extension.
To check a given word in the dictionary - you just highlight the word (or words) ... right click ... and select "Dictionary Search for 'highlighted word here'".

I downloaded the plug-in "AutoForm" for Firefox and it has been working just fine to automatically fill typical web forms. There are some neat features such as the ability to not save a particular form's data ... and also some configuration so it fills out only what you want it to fill out.
You can get to it by visiting the plug-ins section on the Firefox website.

Other things Opera seems to do more easily than Firefox:
One letter shortcut for back (z) and forward (x).
One letter shortcut for zoom (0) and un-zoom (9) font/image sizes, one letter shortcut (6) to return to original size.
Right click menu options for clone current window (good for following 2 different trails) and for go to URL (instead of cutting and pasting a text URL into a new window).
One button switching between user and author stylesheets.

Recently DL'd the release version of Firefox. Finally got some time to play with it today. I give it a ^ very nice. Linked my POP accounts on Thunderbird as well.

been using mozilla firefox for about a month and a half now... i'm deleting it and going back ms-explorer. have problem accessing certain sites, some sites appear distorted, ans links do not work at some site. looks like they have quite a few bugs to work out. and it's not as fast as the explorer. can't say i haven't given it a shot.

As for some sites not working, I agree, some web designers have focussed too much on making their site work with IE, and not enough time sticking to the W3 standards. Having a browser that complies 100% with the W3 standards isn't a bug, it's how a browser is meant to be.
