Am wondering, if people who have a Navigation System in their car, use it and how much?
I am finding it facinating to say the least.
It is really a help keep from going around in circles to just about any place you can think of in the U.S.!

I use my nav system almost constantly, even on well known routes. I get a near-exact predicted arrival time, so it helps me plan a little better. And, if there's a traffic jam or construction in an area (which the unit also displays from a traffic update signal) and I want to find my own detour, I can see the alternatives at a glance.
This was my first-ever nav unit (other than in rentals), but I'd never want to do without again. There's talk that future units will actually show the speed limit of the street that you're currently on--THAT would be great.

I'm another huge fan of GPS technology and never drive off without it. London traffic is unpredictable, the road system is complicated, and having the flexibility of rerouting instantly (without fear of getting lost) has saved me considerable time.
Signage across the UK isn't great, so the GPS unit really comes into its own when travelling in rural areas.
Along with my mobile phone and my Tivo, GPS is one of those 'must have' devices that I would never be without.

I have both a navigation system in my car and a handheld unit. I absolutely love both. I drive a Lexus with the OEM DVD, voice-aided navigation system in my car. It's incredible. I really like the device and will never buy another car without one. By far, it has helped me get to more places (or get out of them) than I would have ever expected. I never look up addresses any more. I just punch them into my navigation system on the car and it takes me there. By the way, I find it lightyears more sophisticated and accurate than the Neverlost System found in most Hertz cars. My hand held is for when I am hiking, out of my car, or flying. Again, I won't ever do without that device either.

I became addicted to my Blaupunkt TravelPilot when I lived in SEA. Before I moved, I yanked it out of the car and shipped it. Even though I don't have a car here, I am seriously considering buying one just to have a place to put it. It kills me to think of it sitting there in its box, doing nothing.
Besides, those Mini Coopers are like half price over here.

I use a mapping system call Street Atlas USA along with an Earthmate GPS on my notebook.
I pick my rental car, open up my computer on the passenger seat, attach my GPS via usb and within 2 minutes, I'm good to go.
I've got all of my customers locations "marked" on my map file. Makes planning a trip a piece of cake.
While driving the little green arrow shows direction and also speed. It even helped get me out of a speeding ticket outside of LA.
Best $150 we ever spent!!
