I've paired it once, and it comes back up every time I turn it on. The range and clarity seem to be a little better, as well.
I am reasonably sure that this headset will work with other BT phones, despite its name. |
So I've finally gotten over myself and decided to go BT. Looking at the HS850, its too bad that Best Buy has them for 99 when Comp-U-Plus has them for $59. I don't trust their no return policy, so I think I'll purchase from buy.com for $69.
Is it true that they must be paired everytime that they go into standby? What about charging the headset or the phone? I've read only good things in this thread re: the HS850. |
Ooooh CompUSA has them for $69.99, BestBuy will price match if your store has in-store availability. I love Reward Zone.

My wife just got her Plantronics Voyager 510 and loves it. She has a slight hearing problem, but says using this with her Treo 650 (Verizon), the sound quality/volume is superior to that of the phone itself and the fit of the small size of the included earpieces makes her think it was made for her.
Her only complaint is that she feels like a "geek" walking around with a flashing blue light on her head:) |

FWIW I am pretty happy with it thus far; the noise suppression is pretty good, considering I have a lot of conversations on longish walks down city streets.

Great sound and volume and feels very comfortable, even with hours of wear. |

Motorola HS 850
I love the compact design and the fact that you can fold the mic boom to turn it on and off. It works well with my Treo 650, and I am sure it'll do fine with any Motorola phone you buy

My Cardo bit the dust this week. What a pos. First the small cap that covers the speaker fell off and I couldn't find it. Emailed the company asking for a replacement cap and not even a reply. Then the exposed speaker broke off.
Going for the HS850 from amazon and crossing my fingers. The reviews seem to be all over the board, but based on the recommendations here, it appears to be the best thing out there. |

Just to follow up on my earlier message, I bought the Motorola bluetooth car speaker (the one that clips to the visor, rather than the built-in one), and I love it. The volume is plenty loud enough and easily adjustable. I use the car speaker all the time now. I still like the bluetooth earpiece with boom for use around the house or when I'm on the computer, but it's just too hard for me to hear in the car.
Just in time too, since Chicago recently enacted an ordinance making it illegal to drive in the city while holding and talking on a cell phone. Sales of hands-free kits went way up, naturally. For me the Moto bluetooth speaker is the best solution. I decided to get the clip-on speaker, by the way, rather than the built-in one, so that I could take it with me on trips and use it in rental cars. Now I just have to hope I never forget it and leave it in a rental car. |
