Retractable Cords

I'm traveling more and more these days, and it's just clunky to drag around an actual phone cord and a patch cable with me wherever I go. I've got enough cords with my laptop's AC power adapter, iPod AC, earphones, etc.

Any suggestions for quality retractable phone cords/patch cables? It just kills me that I'll probably have to pay more for shipping than for the actual product itself.

Cant help you with the patch-cord but you can get a 6' phone cord with a push-button winder (entire unit about 1" x 2" x 0.25") for about $8 or $10 at Brookstone, bought two at ORD a few weeks ago.

Phone cords - You don't need a high quality one since you will probably lose it or leave it in the hotel all the time. Most any dollar store will probably have them.

Network Cable - There are some really good mini cables out there, I forget who had them (Xircom perhaps?) but they were incredibly thin.

Do a search on froogle.google.com for retractable ethernet cable

and a few will come up for as low as under $10 (J and R Music World) , phone ones under $5

It's been my experience that retractable phone cords (RJ11) work fine.

However, my experience with retractable network cables (RJ45) is different. These are not 'shielded' and I have had a failure rate of ~50% using them.
