People who recognise it think its cool. People i have to explain it to think i'm a kn*b!

Best place to find it is to do a search on google for CTU ringtones.
Obviously there's different types for different phones.

Totally agree. I hate all of these stupid rings and just want the regular old ring that cell phones have always had. Fortunately, this has now become "distinctive"

For callers on my approved list, I also use Mozart - the Nozze di Figaro Overture. Regular calls use a standard short beep since I almost always let them roll to voicemail.

For people on my "Friends" and "Family" contact lists, the theme from Knight Rider.

For people on my "Fellow Roller Coaster Nuts" list (a specific subset of "Friends"), the theme from the 60's Batman TV show.

Unknown numbers with caller ID get my Nokia N400's built-in "Polka".

Unknown/blocked ID, it's one of the generic ringers.

Simpsons theme

I also have the Coke jingle that I used to use, and a snippet from Weezer's "Buddy Holly"

I spend a great deal of time in Australia, so I have a separate Aussie GSM prepaid phone for use over there. On that phone my ringtone is the Star-Spangled Banner. So when I hear the phone ring, I know the call is mine!

The theme music to Pilot Guides TV show (called Globe Trekker) in the US. Not available anywhere that I could find for download, so I'm probably one of only a few people that have it.

I recorded my dog talking, not barking but just making sounds when she was excited. Its definately original and not terribly annoying. Most people giggle.

for my Outdoor (aka really loud make sure I hear it in a loud background) ringtone I use an MP3 of Robin William's opening monologue from the Good Morning Vietnam soundtrack, at max volume. It also works very well as an alarm clock sound.

Obnoxious as hell, but for times when I want to make SURE I hear the ring, it works great.

for the rest of the time, my current ringtone is Dire Straits Walk of Life, at a more normal volume.

I've got a Nokia that has USB, IRDA, and BlueTooth connectivity options and built-in MP3 player, so I can download MP3s to the phone (1GB RAM) and use any of the them as a ring tone, as well as using the phone as a backup IPOD.

I don't understand the "pay $$$ for a ringtone only" concept. If you want to use music as ringtones, just buy a phone that supports MP3s and downloads from your computer. Cheaper in the long run and a LOT more flexible.

Those are for special people. I also have a regular phone tone. On my old phone, I couldn't believe there were no phone "rings" as an option!
