I just took delivery of my new Surface Book 3. Question to the resident tech experts... do these machines come pre-installed with a lot of "bloatware" that I need to clean up as soon as I boot the unit for the first time.... what are you suggestions...?

Thanks in advance for you help with this !!!

Cheers,
Alex / Gaucho100K

If it's anything like the SB2, I found it to be a surprisingly clean install. I almost always reinstall Windows on new laptops but opted not to on the 2.

Thanks for sharing your experience - greatly appreciated. Do these modern machines still require BIOS and FirmWare updates...? Sorry for the potential Stupid question but I havent bought a new computer for 10 years now so perhaps this is no longer the norm. Im just trying to figure out what is best to do before I transfer all the data from my old machine. The order I was thinking to do this was...

Step 1 - update Bios / Firmware
Step 2 - update Windows
Step 3 - get new Anti Virus Software Licence
Step 4 - get a new Office 365 Subscription
Step 5 - transfer data from old machine

Anything else I need to do and/or worry about....?

Thanks to everybody for their insight !!!

Cheers,
Alex / Gaucho100K
