They sure can!

Before I started using a radar detector in the Commonwealth, I asked a few friends that use them, about that concern. The general replay I received was "A law enforcement officer can also see your GPS, Traffic Cam, Cell Phone and everything else that is stuck on a windshield - this elevates the level of physical noise, and they usually don't notice them".

I had a friend get ticketed for having a radar detector; they paid the $50 fine and continue to use it. Another friend has been using them for over 20 years here, without any problems. For me, so far, so good.

I have used Valentine One for years and they do upgrades (you pay for this) to their detectors to work with the latest technology. It has saved my butt countless times and you won't be disappointed!

I've been waiting for it to drop in price again. Going to replace my passport max 2. Reviews everywhere say this is the best. I'll use this and waze plus a little common sense.

The Radenso Pro M is the best radar detector I have ever used. It's the only one that filters out the blind spot monitor systems from cars so I don't go crazy while driving from false alerts. It is also the smallest top tier radar detector on the market by a significant margin, which makes it the only one I am willing to travel with (I do not check baggage, and only travel with one international size carry on and one briefcase).

The Uniden R3 is good as well in terms of range (a bit better than the Pro M even), but lacks in filtering out false alerts. It also cannot detect new radar threats such as Multaradar (MRCD) that are present in major US cities and mostly international markets.

Both the R3 and Pro M are significantly ahead of Valentine and Escort, which are older generation technologies.

Unless you are undertaking or lane swapping erratically that is. But now I just don't bother speeding. Especially as we have so many cameras and variable speed limits creeping in.
A word of advice :
Guidance issued by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) is to prosecute in cases where the driver is caught exceeding the speed limit by 10% plus 2mph.

The above forum is the best place to sort out what kind of countermeasures work best for a given driver, vehicle, commute, trip, et al.

I primarily use Uniden R3 + V1 and apps like Waze, Escort Live, and V1Driver. I also have a 360 but use it sparingly and had a Redline prior to the R3.

The RDForum has countless videos showcasing driving techniques like using rabbits and which lane to use and other rules of the road.

Umm... I have the Valentine One and I have no issues with any blind spot monitor systems... so to say its the "only one that filters out..." is just wrong.

It is well known that the Valentine One false alerts to Honda, Acura, Cadillac Escalde, Buick Rendezvous, Mazda CX5, and others. It is in the upper-tier in terms of false rejection, but significantly behind the Radenso Pro M (which only false alert to the Mazda) and the Uniden (which falses to the Honda, Acura, and Escalade).

I have the Escort 9500ci built into one of my cars that completely hidden including having the display in the rear view mirror.

Honestly, I haven’t turned it on for over a year and now use Waze exclusively. Around here they are putting up those mobile Your Speed Is thingys all over the place. Add to that the radar on most newer cars and the normal false alarms it’s just not worth the hassle anymore.

Thats cool and all, but as an owner driving 30k a year, I can assure you I have no issues with false alerts to these vehicles. I also keep my V1 updated when new firmware is issued, so reading that thread you listed (which has 11 posts, not "hundreds") they all seem to say things are good with the latest update.

Haven't used one since the old days of the nationwide 55 MPH limit. You young punks don't know how good you now have it.

Meanwhile, there are roads that I drive under the speed limit on, like those Texas two lanes with 75 MPH limits. Downright dangerous cuz they're rife with longhorns and rednecks.
