Smart DNS & Using a Roku in Australia for US programming

Hi all - looking for some help in just understanding the basics here...

I'm moving from the US to Australia next week & I bought a Roku.

I've set it up with my US information and have a US account.

I have a Roku Premiere+ - from what I can tell, I can sign up for a Smart DNS service, such as Overplay.

Do I need any sort of special router (and if so, recommendations that may be available in Oz?) to change the settings? And is it just a matter of changing the router settings and paying for the service?

It seems like all I need to do use the Smart DNS service & I'll be all set - am I missing anything?

Thanks!

I am told that with Roku it is more difficult as the router has to be configured instead of the settings inside Roku. With AppleTV you can configure the DNS within the settings of AppleTV.

I have both AppleTV and Roku, my AppleTV works great in many countries using "UnLocator" (some Aussies turned me on to it)service, though I am sure most of these other services like yours will work as well..

Thanks - I got the Roku based on having a native Amazon Prime interface. I feel like I probably should have gotten the Apple TV - but Roku was so much cheaper.

Amazon Prime Video is now available basically worldwide at $2.99 a month for 6 months, $4.99 thereafter.
