Dual Sim- IPhone 6

Does anyone use the dual sim adapter (any brand) to have 2 providers on Apple 6?

Yeah - as the above poster implied, just because it makes sense doesn't mean phone companies don't take that opportunity to get their claws in deep.

Also, from a purely practical perspective, only physically stocking locked ones (since most of the sales are on contract) makes more sense -- although unlocking a phone takes less than a minute, and the unwillingness to do it as part of a $600+ cash sale is still pure greed.

"Purchased from Apple", online, but the result would be the same if you got the t-mobile contract free model at the b&m Apple retail store if they have them in stock.

I was surprised that my unsubsidized 5s that I bought at a local t-mo retail store last year came locked, but I was able to get it unlocked in 40 days. There's a checklist online for the details of what conditions you have to meet for them to do the unlock. But since you can order it online from Apple or take your chances at an Apple retail store, and have it delivered unlocked, the only reason to buy it from t-mobile unsubsidized is if they have the one you want and you can't or don't want to wait. Having been there once, I wouldn't do it that way again. Dealing with their CS for my $30 monthly plan was a bit of a hassle, it took 3 attempts to get it unlocked and I was clearly eligible. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I didn't have to go through that again.

Okay I finally made it to the Apple store to look at the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in person. The 6 looks so small. My wife has the 5s and I expected the 6 to look a bit bigger but it is really barely bigger than the 5s. The 6 Plus is exactly the same size as I expected and it is pretty much identical to my Note 2.

I don't think I could downsized to the 6. It is just too small. Now with the reports of the 6 plus bending, I am not so sure about getting 6 plus. I put my Note 2 in the front jeans pocket. Maybe I should stay with the Android phone and wait for the new iPad Mini to be announced in October.

Just out of curiosity: why mix platforms? I'd rather have both Apple or both Android. Mixing seems to dilute the advantages of either platform.

Oh because I need to have iMessage and Photostream. My family had disowned me ever since I switched from iPhone to the Note 2. :p I just want to be loved again... :P

Ah ok then that makes sense.

My wife is an iPhone and iPad user, but my daughter and I use Android. She has to conform to US. :D

Bending? Yowch. That's not good.

I agree - front jeans pocket. I'm worried it'll be too big, but I think it'll be OK.

The problems surfacing seemed associated with its ultra thinness vis-a-vis overall size. Besides, maybe the aluminum shell needed stronger alloy metals to reinforce it - and/or - a strong & rigid protective case as a "backboard" ... that defeat the idea of being the thinness product in their ecosystem http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-29331349

I think it is the combo of a large phone, thinness, and aluminum. Note 2 and 3 are the same size, but they are made with plastic and thicker. Note 2 and 3 does not bend. What ever happened to Apple's liquidmetal technology? I thought it was something like metal that acts like plastic?

Most of my jeans have deep front pocket, so I think I will be okay. When I am sitting, the phone is actually pretty straight.

Bendgate

I love my iPhone, but...

... it seems sometimes things don't go exactely as planned...

Isn't this bendgate old news? I feel like there were talks of the iPhone breaking in people's back pockets since the first generation. Is it the skinny jeans and boney butts putting too much pressure on the phone to make them bend?

I think this is WAY over blown.

This is from front pocket wear. The 6+ is much more susceptible to it than other phones as it's happening in a very short time. They didn't brace it inside enough.

As a comparison I've been carrying my similarly sized Note 2 in a front pocket for nearly 2 years without issue.

Phones of this size were never intended to be in one's front (or back) pants pocket. I wish people would take personal responsibility for their own stupidity.

I've been carrying my similarly-sized Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in my front pocket for nearly 2 years without any issues. @:-)

People carry their phones in their pockets. That's normal use and the device should be able to withstand that. i'd make an argument that sitting on it is not necessarily normal use, but front pocket carrying certainly is.
