Outlook issues on GoGo
I've been having problems with Outlook (and OWA) on Gogo. I buy Gogo when I fly during business hours because I want to be connected and my company agrees, but for the past several weeks on Delta and US Airways I haven't been able to use Outlook. It says it's connected and doesn't sync, or just never connects.
I checked on Gogo and all they offered was to make sure I have outlook set to download headers only. That doesn't seem to make any difference.
Outlook works just fine on my phone, but I need to attach files and other things that I need my computer for so that isn't a viable alternative during a 4 hour flight.
OWA doesn't load the page either. That makes me wonder if it is something outside of my control and in the hands of my company's IT.
Pinging the email server results in timeouts. Other pages that require the VPN load just fine and OWA does not require a VPN connection and does not load.
Any other thoughts?

For Outlook Web Access, try checking the box "Use Outlook Web App Light". It uses a lot less bandwidth and does not have all of the bells and whistles of regular OWA. This is a lifesaver when you have a less than optimal connection. Also, clear the cache on your browser - it may help.

If OWA won't load the page and you can't even ping the server, there is a connectivity issue. But, if that's the case your phone shouldn't work either. Are you sure your phone is actually connected?
Another potential culprit is Outlook's HTTP proxy settings. Go into the Mail control panel, edit the settings for your email account, click More Settings, then under the Connection tab click the Exchange Proxy Settings button. Make sure both checkboxes are checked that start with "On fast networks..." and "On slow networks..." It might help.

I have the identical issues with Outlook, but for me I found the solution... it was with our corporate VPN.
We have two VPN's we can connect to. One that uses the UDP protocol, and one that uses the TCP protocol. If I'm connected to the TCP protocol VPN, I get the *exact* same conditions you have mentioned... Shows "connected" but never downloads/syncs mail... But if I connect to the UDP VPN, I can get mail just fine...
I figured it must be something within the GOGO network that doesnt like a TCP connection back to our Exchange Server...
