Single SIM card for Balkan countries?

I am planning a trip to the Balkans sometime this year, and the destinations are not set yet. It will be a relatively quick trip, just 2 weeks or so max, and most likely we'd be going to at least 4 countries - Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia etc... My question is, what is my best bet for buying as few SIM cards as necessary to cover myself? Are there providers that cover more than one of those countries so I could spend as few minutes in cell phone shops as possible? I care about data only, if that matters. 100-200 MB per day at the low end. Thanks!

The only thing I can suggest is iPhoneTrip. A couple hundred of megs a day makes roaming difficult. Inside the EU, Europasim would work but Slovinia would be the only country that would be covered.

I would suggest also posting your query on prepaidgsm.net.

I am not sure if they can meet your need for data in those countries but for voice I'd recommend checking out www.onesimcard.com.

Data appears to be this guy's main concern and outside of the EU, roaming data still apepars to be the hardest nut to crack.

Yeah I probably won't make a single phone call. That's too bad - I did see the law on EU roaming, but frankly the law only made the prices less eye-watering - 70p per meg instead of 300p, which still adds up really quickly.

I guess we'll just have to get multiple SIMs! Too bad... Thanks!

The difference between "mere" larceny and downright extortion. Take a look at my thread on AT&T's new prepaid roaming data deal.
