We first started traveling with Nespresso when we rented a remote house on Nicaraguan coast. It was so easy that we take it everywhere we are staying for more than a few days. One major problem though is that you need a converter (not adapter) if visiting a country with 220v.

Ok, I give up - I won't
Was actually considering that Aeropress thing, but would really like to try the brew that comes out - I don't do regular/perculated coffee - I really need an espresso to start the day.
Most of the places I travel to, have crappy coffee, so it's a serious pain. With this in mind, had a few pretty good lattes in FRU recently - things have much improved, since my last visit.

Personally, I make a strong brew and add it to hot milk for a pseudo latte when on vacation or camping.
If it's mobile espresso you crave, then the Handpresso range is the way to go. There's a new car machine that will also run from an A/C adapter - maybe easier to carry than a full blow Nespresso.

The handpresso auto looks really interesting. How many cups can you run? Is there a need to have it completely cool down before cups?

Have travelled with one for the last 2 years!
I thought I was the only one mad enough to do this!!
I actually have 2 that I travel with one for European voltage and one for US Voltage (transformer never really worked properly)
I have a built in Nespresso at home and another machine in my office - It beats the terrible coffee they normally serve abroad and goes in the Nespresso travel case in my suitcase

Top tip for all you guys!
I also take my Aeroccino with me wherever I go and when staying in hotels it's hard to get fresh milk to make cappuccino, unless you go out to the store to buy some, or order a glass of milk from room service which is extortionate!
What I do is take an empty small water bottle down to breakfast with me and fill it up from the milk machine for the cornflakes, then keep this in the mini bar

For those considering a second machine, there's a holiday promotion where if you spend $200 or more on a machine, you get a $100 nespresso club credit.
I'm seriously considering...

I also just bagged a free aeroccino (which will make a nice christmas gift for someone) for buying 450 capsules.
First time I've ever had a special offer from them in 6 months!
It's targeted, although there is nothing to indicate this so you just have to put 450 capsules in your basket and it comes up. You can hit this as many times as you like too apparently!

I am glad someone else had the same idea. I bought a machine last near on clearance at Macys and then ended up selling it to my friend. I am starting to travel much more for work and find so much inconsistency in the hotels so I just bought another one. While I can expense my Starbucks I just don't have enough time to go get it all the time. Just wish they had a way to buy the pods in the grocery store so I could expense those too, Don't know how much my company will like "Nespresso Store" as grocery expenses

For us, it was the opposite. I rarely drink coffee, but my husband needs coffee, the way most people need air. In 2011, while we were in Europe, several of our hotels had a Nespresso in the room, and the spousal unit was, shall we say, hooked. I bought him a machine soon thereafter, and he has been a happy man (not to mention all the money saved on Starbuck's).
We don't travel with it, but Nespresso machines have become pretty standard in hotel rooms these days.
