Spoken like a true believer. Too bad you didn't answer the OP's question or give useful advice on how to get the most productivity out of his free Playbook.

Right. Hijacking every non-Apple thread telling someone to buy an iProduct.
Sigh.... |

Sigh.... It was an open question asking for opinions. I have mine, you have yours. Are you afraid he will try out an Apple product and actually like it? |

Afraid of Apple and now afraid to respond. I can see where you get your name.
LOL :D:D |

Will there ever be a Playbook 2, 3 or 4? Or is it a dead end to invest in?
There is talk of other Playbooks in development including a 10" version and 3G/4G support: http://crackberry.com/blackberry-playbook-4g-found-ebay And if you want a cool demo of what Playbook can do then look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQMTq...&feature=share Seems like a fun device (and I am a fan of bb ;)) |
The playbook is great, had it since it was released, even better with 2.0. Wife has an ipad which is good too.
But we have never taken her ipad with us when we travel. Playbook is an awesome travel size, can read ebooks perfectly with 3rd party apps, I'm always connected bridging to my Blackberry. I obviously should have waited for the price to come down but what can you do. The ipad feels way to delicate to take on a holiday. The Playbook feels like a solid piece of equipment. |
I have an ipod touch and don't use it since getting the Playbook (and swearing off a few games). Actually I only use it towards the end of a KLM flight in WBC as Apple has got an app to keep track of what huisjes I haven't collected yet.
Other than that, I love the Playbook. Multitasking does have a certain appeal for me that the iDevices don't offer. I have used my uncle's ipad but don't like it. Too big and heavy. |

I've yet to play with a Playbook on OS 2.0. What other sorts of improvements are there?
Don't take the "runs Android apps" the wrong way though - what actually works is quite limited and definitely not the full Android experience. Form factor is fantastic, hardware quality is great, screen is great and it comes in a 64GB version for under $300. Tether to a Blackberry and for a third of the price of a 64GB iPad, you have a very usable device. That said, there STILL isn't much this thing does that you won't get out of say a Kindle Fire or a Nook Tablet - Netflix, Spotify and other media apps are still MIA. |

I've played with the 2.0 and I really like it. If I were to buy a tablet it would be the playbook.
I don't know about travel apps though. |

Speaking as someone who has actually tried it, as opposed to someone who just buys whatever everyone else buys - the 2.0 of the Playbook is actually quite amazing. I HATED 1.0 - and would never recommend buying it, but 2.0 is what 1.0 should have been.
