You won't miss it. UPS and Fedex are instructed by Apple to not deliver until the 16th. If they deliver earlier than that, it's a mistake. Release day delivery is not uncommon for them. Happens for games and videos too.
As I recall, both carriers had to make arrangements for additional secure storage at their depots for iPhones and iPods during previous releases. They had thousands of them at many of their larger hubs all waiting for release day. joe |

no carrier will allow this. i don't know of anyone who has an unlimited plan on their tablets.
your best bet might be to tether with your phone. at&t especially as their networks are under such a terrible load right now that any plan change whatsover leads them to try to rid you of your unlimited plan. |
iPad 3 has arrived
It's here and it is gorgeous! The FedEx delivery guy said they are overwhelmed today, that all the drivers are very busy. I got mine before 11:00 AM CST.

In my interest for MiFi plans (to bolt onto my iPhone 4S) over the last 6 months, I've asked different reps about moving my current unlimited plan to the iPad when the new one arrived. TWO of them told me I can do it...so yes, I will let them know how....displeased I am if I can't get it moved over.

If I cut my Verizon Samsung Hotspot 4g SIM card down to microsim size, can I just move my plan over to my iPad or do I need to get the MSID number into the system?

The SIM is just for 3G networks outside the USA. |
Got mine. Love it. Love the voice dictation, which just dictated this post. I sold mine on eBay made enough to pay for almost all of this one.

Apparently the Verizon iPad 3 will work with AT&T (but 3G only) if you put in an AT&T SIM.

Got mine at 1:30PM
UPS driver had 40 of them to deliver on his route. Wasn't happy as he had to get signatures for every one. My DH is synching everything now. Cant waitto start using it.

It is a tad bigger. My new iPad won't fit in my iPad 2 case.

I've been playing with the new iPad for the past few days and I like the new display and the high def apps (it was smart for Amazon/Kindle and the NY Times to invest developing that).
I don't really notice the additional thickness or weight but it's hard to scientifically measure that. I did notice the difference going from iPad to iPad 2 however. My review of the iPad is online here and I've posted a few photos below. http://www.frequentbusinesstraveler....ED-300x234.jpg http://www.frequentbusinesstraveler....20-300x199.jpg |

Well put. I've got mine and it's gorgeous. Now to get a good trade-in value for the iPad 2 or just keep it as a spare.
as for the device itself, I bit on this one (okay, I bit on the 1, and the 2 too) mostly for LTE, but wanted to see the display. the "retina" display is nice, but it isn't like CRAZY better than the ipad 2. The ipad 2 was IMHO already the gold standard for tablet displays. Moving to this display isn't like say moving from SD tv to HDTV on a big plasma screen. It isn't NIGHT AND DAY. Some things are a better, but not like leaps and bounds better. If you have really nice 15-20MP images, yes they look sharper and a bit more saturated. Website TEXT is a bit crisper, but nothing else is better in that respect. The new screen uses twice as many LED's, not to mention the resolution pop. That is why the nearly 70% larger batter only provides the same amount of USAGE time, but requires nearly TWICE the amount of CHARGING time. Only each user can decide if the trade off is worth it. For me, having ad-hoc LET with speeds of 30+ MB is really more value for the traveller in my, the screen is really just a nice nice to have added bonus. |
eBay was buying it for about $400 last week. No auction, no listing fees, just buying it out right
