iPad case recommendations

What cases would you recommend for the iPad? There seem to be many but not sure which has best price/value point and which would be best for using the iPad on the subway in NYC and the occasional longer trip.

Thanks.

I like the Tumi Alpha series. My boyfriend has my favorite one (which I don't see on their site anymore): it's red, with slightly raised black webbing. It's made of neoprene, so it's soft, and the webbing prevents it from sliding around when set on a surfact.

Ipad or Ipad 2? There aren't many Ipad cases out there anymore unfortunately. No specific recommendations but if you are going to get an Ipad for use on a bus or a train I would get something with a hand strap. It's not as easy to hold one handed as say a kindle or a nook.

The Incase one also has a foldable stand and its quote affordable at about $45.

Be careful, iPads and iPhones are favorite targets for grab and snatch thieves on the subway. Listening to music is one thing, playing with iPad is another!

And yet, I see people do it all the time.

Certainly I wouldn't walk around many places flashing fancy gadgets or wads of cash...but use common sense and be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine.

I like the Tucano brand, both for iPad cases as well as MacBook bags.

The Kensington KeyFolio is excellent if you want to have a small keyboard available- which in my case makes the Ipad 100% more productive. Very nice product.

I recommend the HARMONY iPad2 by Evio Concepts.

Its a stylish and light-weight folio-style case that protects the front and back of the iPad 2. I believe its made of leather material on the outside and has soft felt micro-fiber material on the inside. Easy access to all the ports and cameras, has a kick-stand for typing angle, and supports Apple's smart-cover on/off sleep functionality.

At only $39.99 it's a steal deal in my opinion. The only minor drawback is it doesn't have a movie-viewing stand, but you can still achieve a comfortable movie viewing angle by placing the case on its side, so no problem there.

You can check out the HARMONY case at http://www.evioconcepts.com/harmony.html

I just got an ipad 2 and I'm looking for a case too. One that primarily helps me grip itt better with my hands. I have a disability that affects one of my hands. I would also want one to kind of protect it if it is dropped, but the primary thing is a good grip on it. Any suggestions?

Try the Griffin Survivor... rubberized outer covering and great shock absorption.

My friend has one of those and it seems the sensitivity of the screen is lost on out. I have to push hard to get the iPad to sense touch. My other friend had a Gumdrop case like the Griffin one that does not have a problem with that. I ordered one. We'll see if it works when it gets here next week.

iPad 1 or iPad 2? Existing threads:

As for me, I have the Toblino 2 leather cover. I didn't want a folio type or anythign with a keyboard, but still something relatively slim and professional-looking. I really like it so far. Looks great, leather feels good, and fits well. It is a bit heftier than some of the plastic/rubberized covers out there (like the smart cover + back cover, or something like the HD Pixelskin), so something to consider if you're looking for a super-slim profile.

Hey, that IS nice. How easy is it to get the iPad in and out of that clip-on setup?
