One Trip; One App
I usually just keep some paper notes on my personal trips as I have a good idea of my budget and what will fit into it.
Family, however, has upcoming three weeks in Germany and France with a definite budget. I've looked at a variety of apps in the Apple App Store (wife and I both have iPhones 4/0). I want to use mine to keep a fairly accurate accounting of what we spend, on what, allowing for Euro/US$ conversion, and keeping a running total in each category (lodging, food, transportation, etc.). Would like to be able to total each day and grand total at the end.
Have looked at Tripit and a couple of others more finance oriented, but the number of possible solutions appears to be endless. Does anyone have any suggestions for an app I can use on this trip (possibly on future trips, but not necessary)?

not being a geek and not very tech savy I use trip wallet it pretty simple you list what you spend either in euros or dollars or even egyptian pounds. Of course the told is in that but its easy enough to convert with any one of the many free apps for currency conversions.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; U; CPU OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J3 Safari/6533.18.5)
Take a look at BizXpensTrkr or iXpenseIt. They aren't designed for exactly this but should work nicely. Just make sure you don't have them syncing to DropBox automatically. In general make sure your iPhone data roaming is off.

Both sound good. Why not sync to Dropbox? For sure, roaming will be off!
I meant don't sync while there, it would use roaming data. Sorry for not being clear on that. I do sync to Dropbox.
