While running an internet bandwidth test, gripping the left side IMMEDIATELY shuts the bandwidth test down. I really hope Apple doesnt release an update that just hides the issue...

Just repeat that test. If it succeeds with the rumored upgrade, fine. If it doesn't, it obviously didnt hide it. I don't care how many bars the signal strength indicator shows. I either get decent 3G throughput and stable voice calls, or it is and remains broken.

"You're holding it the wrong way" -- HA! I really didn't expect that stupid a response from Apple (and I'm a fan).

By Gizmodo on MSNBC - not a very reliable source given their history.

In terms of first week sales, probably not.

In terms of lifecycle sales, absolutely.

Like the previous poster said - Apple is king of launch sales. But companies like Nokia sell more phones in a week than Apple sells in a year.

Lawsuits filed over iPhone 4 antenna reception

Plaintiffs sue Apple, AT&T, saying device's design is to blame for signal loss

by Ian Paul
PC World

Two Maryland residents have filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple and AT&T over the iPhone 4 antenna design issue that has caused dropped calls and signal loss for some users. The plaintiffs are seeking financial compensation for their troubles, and the case also asks the court to prevent Apple from selling the iPhone 4 until the antenna issue is solved.

Wow. Just... Wow.

I wish I had such awful, horrible, life-altering troubles... one should be lucky.

Talk about litigious.

True, but do we really count all of the low-end devices in there? A fairer comparison would be to ask how many other companies sell as many devices that go for $199+ subsidized (or equivalent non-subsidized rates in markets where that's the norm).

In any case, I haven't had a dropped call yet on my 4. And, GPS appears to be performing significantly better on this one than on the original 3G - much faster to acquire a signal.

nice demo. That's you?

The thing about the latest "confession" from Apple to me is that it doesn't really clear anything up, except that they
are displaying the bars incorrectly for AT&T. What a disappointment.
