I saw a long queue in Swansea yesterday as I wandered past. Today in Cardiff, heading to the Apple store, I toddled past an O2 shop that had one person standing by the door so I followed him in and came out with a 32gb iPhone 4 in about 10 minutes. The Apple store still didn't have any iPad camera connection kits though.

Can't activate a new micro-sim in France for love nor money. Maybe I'll try at 5am tomorrow.

You're holding it wrong...think different.

How else do you hold a cell phone? Nice though that Apple will sell you a protective cover to improve it though...sheesh.

Stayed up late last night playing with mine and configuring the apps, though it's not really foreign as I've been using a 1G Touch for a long time. Still haven't figured out how to answer a call when the screen is locked. And figuring out text messaging from the messages icon was a little bit of a pain. I'm a little disappointed that it's not more intuitive like other apple products or even blackberry. But that undoubtably means I made the right choice - I'd be throwing an android against the wall by now.

I guess that's how Steve Jobs broke up with his ex-girlfriends - "It's not me, it's you".

I'm active now, so I can try a video call to or from France if anyone in America wants to test intercontinental calls.

I am still interested in looking at the iPhone 4 but I think I will let Apple consult with their 600,000 beta-testers for a couple of months first... ;)

I have to be honest, I have the 32gb and cannot recreate the reception issue at all. I've gone to far as to use wires to connect the bands and still have full bars.

That's where I'm at on the first generation iPad.

Dip your hands in water and then pick up the phone.

Sweaty hands seem to be the key here.

Tried your suggestion, but still couldnt get the bars to drop. Maybe I got lucky? Or maybe there's just really good coverage here?

Haven't noticed the reception issue as I always have my phone in a case.

However, I had the yellowish tint problem and Apple traded it out for a new iPhone 4 today that didn't have the yellowish tint problem.
