I'm running into an issue where my memory is continually getting used up. I'll delete data or applications only to find my memory low again. Then I cannot receive SMSs, as the phone has not enough space. I find the easy solution is to factory reset the phone and then just re-install everything, but there has to be a better way.

Is there applications that help manage free memory, or at least a way of holding a buffer enough to keep my text messages from being refused? Any ideas welcome....

Yeah, it's a cheap Acer with only 512MG memory. All apps that can move to SD have already been moved. I don't mind tossing apps that I don't use, as I have everything backed up using AppSaver. The problem is that 2 days after I uninstall them, the memory that I freed up seems to have disappeared again.

Thank you, I will try the one suggested above.

+1 for CamScanner. I use it with drop box, and and have basically eliminated the need to save receipts while on the road any more.

I don't know how long it's been available, but SeatGuru is free for Android.

This is YYZ centric, but I love my Transit Now app. Using bus and streetcar GPS it tells you when the next vehicle is getting there. I now spend no more than a minute or so waiting since I just don't bother going to the stop any earlier than I need to. Presumably other cities have similar apps.

Second that, Transit Now is definitely the best of the YYZ transit apps. Pparticularly useful other ones (that I've used) are London Travel and Transport for Ireland Journey Planner.

Dropbox for Android is crippled, but there is an app that un-cripples it. That app is DropSync (after you purchase the $5 Pro key). I'm still trying it out, but it seems to be very good.

The issue is that Dropbox for Android only syncs files one at a time, and only on request. That is very different from the way it works on desktops and laptops, where an entire folder is copied to every device and sync'ing is automatic.

DropSync for Android (in conjunction with Dropbox) automatically copies modified files to and from an Android device, like Dropbox does for desktops and laptops. It can be set to activate only when wi-fi is available (to protect your 3G or 4G data plan), and only to work when the battery is above a selectable %age.

I think that DropSync will be most useful when flying w/o wi-fi and when traveling internationally.

Boxcryptor- it works on all platforms and OS to encrypt a dropbox folder. Seems easier than truecrypt.
