I'm running Windows Mail on Vista. A couple of days ago, something changed, and my received mail messages no longer display any images that are displayed from external sites via HTML.
I don't get a red x, I don't get a security warning, I just get a big empty space where the image should be. The HTML is still there, I can see it in the source, and if the image is a link, that still works.
Googling for help, the suggestions all say to uncheck the "Block Images" checkbox under Tools > Options > Security > Download Images. But that is already unchecked.
Anyone have any ideas (other than a better mail client)?

Is this a work address or a personal address? Asking because my old job blocked all image files in e-mails.
Some antispam, snti spyware, and firewall software will prevent images from coming through too. If you recently updated any of those, check those settings too.

This is my personal machine, and I have accounts at multiple domains/hosting compaines that are all exhibiting this behavior.
My anti-virus is AVG. I haven't done any explicit updates to that, but it does self-update definitions. I don't see any settings in the AVG control panel to affect this.
