Everything has a "last wearing" before it gets tossed out - unless you only wear undies once. I don't see any difference between putting on a pair of socks for the last time at home vs. on the road. Either way, they're due to be replaced, not "ratty" just time to be tossed.

Sorry I should have phased it my ratty socks and underwear because they are truly ratty before I get rid of them. They may have holes, are discolored, the elastic is stretched, or a combination of all thee before I get rid to them. Either way these items take up so little space in the scheme of things I don't do it. If you don't see any difference I am ok with that too.
