Leaving town this weekend for a 7 day domestic trip covering 3 cities, and just picked up 6 pair of woolen socks for $9.99 with a $1 off-coupon right on the plastic wrapping. They last longer than those designer-brand premium ones sold at local Macys !! The "FOL" w. odor guard sold by local Target worked well for me & highly disposable over time - it will definitely be dry & ready in less than 48 hours next to the HVAC vents ...

I use smartwool or Patagonia ULW socks, or for all-terrain shoes the REI quarters:

Ames Walker is good for travel socks aimed at reducing clot risk during flight. The ones that I have purchased are microfiber and dry like the microfiber underwear and t-shirts.
