I've never seen the sky the color that it is in that photo. I suspect that the photographer hasn't either.

So, you have never seen a blue sky? Hmmmm. Since I didn't comment on the color of the sky, but simply on the gondola's appearance related to the water, I am curious as to why you chose to use my quote to disparage someone else's work.

The comment was related to the fact that the picture is an HDR photo, which tweaks colors/details in a photo. About a year or two ago everyone went crazy for the effect. It was pretty cool, but the original effect (combining multiple photos to gain detail in areas that are over/underexposed) is pretty easy to somewhat fake in photoshop or instagram. HDR video is still pretty cool: Here's a quick example using video (http://vimeo.com/35867786)

Personally, I think the photo that was posted is composed nicely, but I would tone the colors back to something more natural looking just as a personal preference.

The Hyderabad photo is beautiful. It's colour-enhanced, I think. The effect is lovely!

A decent helping of saturation was added for effect, but the colors/hues are as shot.

I sincerely apologize for mis-understanding the meaning of your post. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. I wanted to state that publicly.

I don't think it was my post that you were originally responding to. You haven't done anything that needs an apology, IMHO.

Photo taken by my teen son with his iPhone en route LGA-IAH:

He likes to get creative with some of the apps on his iPhone:

I liked the texture in this photo. He managed to include me in the shot as well:

He took some pictures of the Veterans Day parade on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. I like the isolation of the colors against the B&W background.
