No filter used, but rather a Tilt Shift adapter.

What was your opinion on San Marino?
I have always had it on my list to try, add another country and stop by during Italy trips but never made it happen.
It looks very cool with various viewpoints/towers, history and shopping to keep one busy for 1-2 nights if in the Bologna or similar area but rarely hear anything positive about it. Might just be off the radar for most?

Any hotel recommendations?

We enjoyed the day trip to San Marino very much. Everything about this micro state fascinated us. The locals are extremely friendly. Since we didn't stay there, I have no hotel recommendation. I did noticed that there are 3 or 4 hotels around.
In fact if you were in say Florence, or nearby Umbria, simply do a day trip by car. The is a very hilly nation. Keep that in mind. We loved hiking all over working ourselves upward all the way to the top. There are elevator/gondola to bring people up/down as well. Be sure you stay for the sunset (for photo-ops). Check in at the "Passport" stamping office to get your backet list checked off!
If you are adventurous, you most likely will enjoy the visit.
I have 2 galleries of photos in the link below:

Hope this helps!
