Osaka Marriott Miyako
An amazing hotel on the 38th to 55th floors of Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Osaka and 2nd tallest in Japan...it feels like you're higher over everything else for miles!

We took our first international vacation since the pandemic over the holidays, traveling through New Zealand and Sydney for the first time (a somewhat belated honeymoon). Decided to splurge / use points on hotels with views, and it was spectacular.
Park Hyatt Auckland: we stayed in the Full Harbour Suite, which comes with a balcony with panoramic views of the Auckland skyline (posted a review in the Hyatt subforum of my experience).
Beautiful morning view of the Auckland Harbour and skyline
The room also overlooks the Wynyard Crossing bridge, which lights up at night.
Fiordland Lodge Te Anau: in the South Island, we picked this beautiful lodge to stay in as a base for our Milford Sound tour. This is the view from one of the Deluxe Lodge Rooms which is on the 2nd floor with a shared balcony.
Clouds breaking over Lake Te Anau in the morning
Stoneridge Estate: for the second half of our South Island stay, we headed over to Stoneridge Estate near Queenstown. We stayed in the Aoraki Suite in the "Retreat" building with an enormous balcony with panoramic views over the Queenstown area and Lake Hayes.
Beautiful clear morning looking over Lake Hayes
Sunset looking towards Queenstown
The Milky Way! Lack of light pollution means a sky full of stars at night.
Four Seasons Sydney: for our last leg, I knew I wanted to book a hotel that overlooked Sydney Harbour to catch the New Years Eve fireworks. The Deluxe Full Harbour room was tiny but the views were spectacular overlooking both Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House with a perfect vantage point for the fireworks.
