I've downloaded all the software and will update/transfer everything when I get back to the cabin on Thursday as I only have dial-up there

Today on the schedule was 6 miles at a "comfortable pace." Given that it isn't too hot today, that's exactly what I did. Ended up with 6.05 miles in 48:48 or 8:05/mile pace. I ran the last mile at 7:31 which helped bring down the average pace a bit. I probably averaged around 8:10 to 8:15 before that. Total calories knocked out: 855. Felt pretty good. Looking forward to another easy day of 3 miles tomorrow before resting on Friday before the long runs on the weekend!

Today was another simple 3 miler at a comfortable pace. I felt good so I really laid it out and finished in 21:36 or 7:12/mile pace. Felt really good to run fast (for me). Rest tomorrow. Thank goodness.

yesterday I did my first 10K race. Lots o' fun. Humid but not unbearably hot. I was very happy with my time and I came in first place amongst all barefooters...(didn't see any others besides me, so the competition wasn't difficult )
I think I have another 10K coming up next week. I really enjoyed the day and look forward to the next one.

Forgot to post this past week:
Monday -- 6 miles at 7:30 pace
Tuesday -- 1 mile warmup followed by 4 1-mile hill repeats at 7:15 pace and then a 1 mile cooldown.
Wednesday -- Off
Thursday -- Long run broken in to 2 parts because of time constraints --
1:40 in the morning and then 1:00 in the evening (actually ran a negative split by 2 minutes, and boy was it hot).
Friday -- 8 miles at 7:30 pace
Saturday -- Off
Sunday -- Off
What an ugly week of heat and humidity. I hope it gets better this week. Can't wait to start my week with a Monday morning at the track.

This weekend was interesting, running-wise. I was at the Cape yesterday and today. Yesterday I tried to squeeze the run in between swimming with my niece and nephew and dinner. I think I was a bit worn out from the horsing around and that forced me to slow it down a bit. Ended up doing 6 miles (on the schedule) in 50:01 or 8:20 pace.
Today I woke up and just did not feel all that great (probably too much alcohol last night ). Anyway, I tried to do the 12 miler, but about 2 miles into it, I knew it wasn't my day (plus I really had to use the bathroom - case of the runs!), and I decided to postpone the long run till tomorrow. So, I ran/walked (due to the runs) 3.65 miles in 38:44 or 10:36/mile pace back to the car.
So, not a real productive weekend running wise, but I hope tomorrow's 12 miler will get me back on track. Weather isn't supposed to be too terrible.

Continuing from above, today I did my long run of 12 miles. It was fairly dry and only in the upper 70s and consequently, I felt pretty good. I ran a bit faster than I should have, finishing in 1:38:49 or about 8:18/mile pace. If I want to run a 3:40 marathon I need to do 8:24s, so I shouldn't be running these long runs quite that fast as they're supposed to be slow, but what the hell.
Totals calories burned amount to 1706. I think I'm going to treat myself to pizza for lunch.
Cross-training tomorrow and then 6 on Wednesday. Giddy up.

The heat wave broke in KC - finally!! And to celebrate, I had my first decent semi-long run in about 6 weeks. Went 13.4 in just under 2 hours. Nice 9 minute miles, and felt great afterwards - like I could have pushed the last mile or two hard if I weren't running with a group.
