Child friendly resorts in Samui
Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations on family oriented resorts in Samui?
Also, does anyone know of a car/taxi company that can provide child seats on the island (specificallyfor the transfer from airport to resort and back).
Thanks

Tony, try a search on tripadvisor.com. You can refine your search using the advanced function to narrow it down to family resorts.

dont depend too much on tripadvisor !
How many children and what are their ages ?
what is your approxiamate budget per night?
Would a villa possibly suit you?
This will help people here to advise you accurately.
Ko samui is a well developed family orientated island. There are many resorts from luxury to budget . I personally like Baan taling ngam at the luxury end and have many recomendations for all budgets.

Thanks both.
Kids are 1 and 3. Budget is up to 10-12k THB a night. We absolutely don't want a pool villa (i.e. where you have a private pool on the deck).
I think a hotel may be better (rather than a private villa) as we will only be there for 4 nights and arrive late on the first night.
I have been to Samui before, but that was in 2004 before the kids showed up so requirements were somewhat different. We probably would have stayed at the boathouse had it not been for the building work.
Oh and for what it's worth, I am a fan of tripadvisor - at least the hotels don't seem to have the ability to get the negative reviews removed, unlike I think it was travelocity...

Any thoughts on this property Banana Fan (http://www.bananafansea.com ) and the location ? Is chawang (sp) beach one of the better beach locations in Samui ?
I'm also considering staying at the more expensive Baan Taling Ngam Resort & Spa . How far is it from the main shopping strip by car.
Finally any recommendations on discount agencies to book these hotels ?

Some friends are planning a trip to Samui with their 3 kids. They'd like a place that is near or on the beach. Budget is around $150/night. Any ideas?

Amari Palm reef in North Chaweng is quite a good choice for a family.
The beach in front of the hotel is not the best part of Chaweng beach but still nice enough. The resort itself has a couple of good pools, nice grounds and a generally good ambience/vibe for a family. You are also away from the main nightlife to avoid any disturbance but not too far to visit if you choose.
The only thing to add is that the resort is in two halfs, either side of the Chaweng beach road. I have often stayed at the non beach side accomodation with pool and enjoyed it very much but this is something one might what to consider.

I had the same "problem" and found out these hotels:
Rocky's
Kirikayan Luxury Pool Villas & Spa
The Passage
Banyan Tree
Shasa Hotel
They all offer good/high quality with facilities for young children
