I know also some Thais, who got vaccinated in Europe without any residence permit there. Most European countries have now enough or even an oversupply of vaccines, so will give it to anybody. 3-4 months ago, this was not yet the case

The Covid-19 task force has announced a curfew will be imposed in Bangkok, its five surrounding provinces and 4 southern border provinces from 9 pm -4 am, effective on July 12.

Hearing interprovincial travel will be limited, constrained, restricted, etc. Assume there will be the usual exceptions.

So far everything is up in the air, as far as I can tell - aside from "more restrictions are coming", still waiting for some official announcement.

Still vague, but curfew and partial lock-down coming, starting Monday:

Guess we need to see the exact wording from an official announcement, as this says "urged to refrain from..."

Basically Delta is community spreading in a mostly unvaccinated populace that is tired of covid restrictions. Testing is so limited, the reported cases are just tip of the iceberg. It's going to get considerably worse before it gets better.

More and more health officials are speaking out about both the real case count, estimated to be 4X ~ 5 X (some say 10X), and the death count, also said to be undercounted.

Most appear to have given up on the sinovac vaccine - the only vaccine Thailand seems able to reliably secure (albeit at a very, very, very high price).

People are camping out, in the rain, all night for a chance to get tested.

People are camping out at hospitals trying to get treated; others are dying at home waiting for a bed.

Masses of people are streaming towards rumored vaccinations sites, like Bang Sue railway station, in hopes of getting a vaccine.

Trust in the regime, while never high, appears to have all but eroded, with coalition rats looking to jump ship. Various/sundry potential "leaders" (twits all) jockeying for the headman position.

Protests are starting up, again.

Financial analysts are quite bearish, even alarmist.

I'm trying to remember the last time I saw the King in the news. Although his wives appear occasionally. I'll admit to not watching the nightly "Royal News" TV show.

Not looking good.

Fortune tellers must be making a killing. And merit-making is off the charts.

Not exactly end of days, but if I bumped into Snake Plissken I guess I wouldn't be surprised.

Thai AirAsia suspends local flights from July 12-31

Airline cooperating with government to curb travel as Covid worsens; southern bus services also halted

Thai AirAsia has suspended all domestic flights from July 12 to 31, saying it is cooperating with authorities to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The airline had said on Friday night that the suspensions would start on Saturday, but it quickly backtracked. Scheduled flights on Saturday and Sunday were operating as normal in order to ease the impact on passengers who might be left stranded, it said on its airasia travels Facebook page. It apologised for any inconvenience.

Hundreds of Thai medical workers infected despite Sinovac vaccinations

BANGKOK, July 11 (Reuters) - Thailand's health ministry said on Sunday more than 600 medical workers who received two doses of China's Sinovac vaccine (SVA.O) have been infected with COVID-19, as authorities weigh giving booster doses to raise immunity.

Of the 677,348 medical personnel who received two doses of Sinovac, 618 became infected, health ministry data from April to July showed. A nurse has died and another medical worker is in critical condition.

That low percentage would indicate the Chinese vaccine is actually pretty effective.
